Monika and I left for Stanford Medical Center this morning at about 10:30. After a quick stop at the Starbucks in Angels Camp for some “Holy Water” we headed out. What with construction traffic on Highway 4 and Palo Alto we were 5 minutes late for our 2:15 appointment (a fast lunch did happen) at the Stanford Woman’s Cancer Center.
No matter, after a brief wait, no more then 7-10 minutes or so, Monika and I were taken in to see the Doctor.
Short story. Almost every thing looks good. There is a small patch of skin 1/2″ x 1 & 1/2″ that needs looking at. It is still dark and bruised looking. It is possible they might need to debride the edge and re-stitch.
Following this look, all four drains were removed. It is possible that my “Gripping hand” will recover in a day or two
. This made Monika briefly uncomfortable, but very happy.
Questions were asked, and answered. Our second followup appointment confirmed for August 21st and the drive home commenced.
It’s funny, they have a $5 toll on just about every bridge into the Bay Area. Stupid fools, I’d pay $10 to get out of there.
We arrived home, after a quick stop at a fruit stand for some fresh fruit*, around 7:30. I made dinner for the sprogs and settled down for a well deserved beer.
*And some Wasabi Peas. God bless whoever thought to add wasabi to freeze dried peas.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like a good visit, Sorry about your hand. Just 5$ ? Amazing ……..
