So how much does it cost to get a “Summer Olympics” and who in paticular do you have to pay off?

Cash?  Hookers?  What?

Rio de Janeiro (AFP) – The Australian Olympic team will not move into the athletes village in Rio after it was condemned as “not safe or ready” by the country’s chef de mission on Sunday.

Team chief Kitty Chiller said problems include blocked toilets, leaking pipes, exposed wiring, darkened stairwells where no lighting has been installed and dirty floors in need of a massive clean.

After Brexit, Top EU bureaucrat wants a ‘European Government’

“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste,” Chicago Mayor and long-time Obama confidant Rahm Emanuel once said. Despite being rejected by the UK voters in the last month’s referendum, top bureaucrats running the European Union want to do precisely that. Since Brexit results, they have unveiled plans to build an EU Army, expand the entitlement programmes, and boldest of all — calls to create a unified EU Government, a pan-European Superstate.

What was once confined to the realm of myth and conspiracy theory, is now being proposed from the helm of the EU. On the day of the Brexit result, President of EU Parliament Martin Schluz and German Vice-Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel published a detailed proposal calling for reconstituting the EU into a European Government. Both Gabriel and Schulz are leading members of Germany’s Social Democratic Party (SPD) that is currently in a coalition with Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democrats (CDU). Having tied its lot to Merkel’s policy of open borders, SPD’s poll numbers have hit a historic low. The proposal co-published by two of the Europe’s most powerful politicians wants to wrest remaining economic powers away from the national governments, creating an ‘Economic Schengen’ zone.


Looks to me that Hitler was only 85 years or so early and about 400 miles North and East of where these people think he should have been.

Happy Birthday America.

We have seen better times and we have seen worse but this country is 240 years old and doing pretty good for an old guy.  If we can refrain from electing the witch we have a chance on being around and free for a little longer.

So let me get this straight.

When a (possibly) Gay, Hillary supporting Democrat, who also happens to be a Isis supporting Islamist goes on Jihad and kills 49 people (wounding many others) at a night club in Orlando (not with an AR15) with the end result that I’m (a white, christian, male, heterosexual) at fault?

Go bugger yourselves Obama, Boxer, Pelosi, Reid, Crankles (HRC) and a big Fuck You to Senator  Jeanne Shaheen (BrainDead: New Hampshire).

“The fact is, the AR-15, the gun that (Omar) Mateen used, that’s a weapon of war; it’s advertised as being able do technologically advances in killing people that previous weapons have been unable to do and somebody who is buying that kind of a weapon isn’t buying it for target shooting,” she said. “They’re not buying it to go out and hunt deer. You don’t need an AK-47 or an AR-15 to hunt deer. They’re buying it to do bad things and we need to recognize that and address it.”

I’m not sorry.  You blather crap at me and I’ll get right in your face.  That and I’m still trying to process that statement.  “it’s advertised as being able do technologically advances in killing people that previous weapons have been unable to do“.  Say what?

To The Dishonorable Jeanne Shaheen:  It’s obvious that the 3 or perhaps 4 brain cells that you actually have are just rattling around in the speech center of the toxic waste pit that passes for your brain.  Just go away, that way you won’t embarrass yourself further.

I do feel that I should warn you Senator, that it does contain some multi-syllabic words.  So you might want to find a 5th or 6th grader to explain them to you.

Islamist want’s to kill rappers and Journalists.

Well I never said they were ALL Bad!

“Allah said, fight the infidels. And thanks to Allah, I Just killed a policeman and I killed his wife.

“I’m calling on you to kill policemen. To kill police, prison guards, journalists. Yes! You hear me, attack journalists. Especially journalists. These are the enemies of god. Kill them.

“Kill the mayors of your cities, kill the representatives in parliament. It is very simple, you just need to wait for them in front of their homes and offices. Policemen, journalists, we are going to wait for you everywhere!

“I call my brothers to attack rappers. They are messengers of Satan. Kill them, these people deserve to be sent to hell. Rappers, you should know we are coming for you as we came for this policeman, in front of his home.”

Get a gun, if you are willing to learn how to use it.  Then learn how to use it and always wonder why in Hell president lightbringer want’s to import more of these.

Truck (head gasket) update.

For the last three weeks I’ve pretty much driven it daily and NOT used any water.

I ascribe this miracle to the use of Prestone Head Gasket Stop Leak*.  I’ve not had to put in a drop of water since I’ve used it.  Prior to that I was putting in a couple of cups of water a day.  How long will it last?  I truly don’t know.  I do know that I felt good enough about it to put a new pair of tires on it and in a month or so I’ll put a second pair on.  Of course I really needed the new tires.

If it starts to use water again I’ll use it one more time.  Hell, just replacing the Head Gasket (and timing chain and anything else that should be replaced after 318,000+ miles) would cost me $1,500 plus.  A rebuilt engine would set me back $2,100 plus installation and still leave me with the rest of the car having 320,000+ miles.



*$13 well spent.

All the Strawberry Camping gear is put away.

As my youngest puts it.

Twice each year the mysterious and little known “Strawbarians” gather in the California Sierra foothills for their week (plus) long stay.

They don’t all arrive  at one time however, several days if not weeks before the main Rabble arrive, small groups of them show up and prepare landing zones for the rest.  Then suddenly, and always on a Wednesday, multiple small flocks arrive and set up their camps.  The very next morning the main masses of them will start to arrive.  Some to stay for four and a half days and some to depart within a day or two or even, in some cases, mere hours.

Why do they gather?  Science is not quite sure, some think it is a mating ritual, others think it is a time to learn and practice new sounds singly or in groups.  Certainly there are those who use this time to indulge in ethanol or recreational pharmaceuticals.  For others it is just a chance to once again gather with friends.  Perhaps it is all of the above.

The following Monday the exodus starts and as mysteriously as they gather they depart, for destinations unknown.  Mostly up and down California it’s true, but some travel up into Oregon and a few are rumored to migrate as far as the east coast.

In three short months they will gather again, then depart and not be seen for 9 months.

Such is the life cycle of the typical Strawbarian.

Things I learned at this springs Strawberry.

  • Jen Kruger may not be the best Banjo player in the world (I’m not capable of judging that) but he sure as Hell is in the running for the title.  He owns that fret board from top to bottom.
  • The House and Senate are elected to do the Presidents bidding.  If they don’t they should all be fired.  I think I was absent the day that was covered in Social Studies.
  • Our camp does not so much “Camp” as “Move In”.  That however is true of most of the Staff Camps.
